Why is it that many people seek the answers of lay people that professionals will tell them if they only call the specific agency, or corporation or government office that their question is directed toward?

People are stupid...Why do people seek Professional advice when here when it can be obtained for free from professionals?
I think because it gives people a sense of community and comfort knowing other people have been through it. Also its a way of getting advice first before they talk to a professional. Some people also don't have easy access to professionals at the time .Plus, its a way to pass the time when your sitting on your computer. Either way, everybody is in different situations so they all have their different reasons.
There are many professionals on Y!A who give very sound advice and it is also good to get feedback from people who share your experiences.
